Emerging from Hayward CA in early 2009, Cast Iron Crow has been making quite a splash on the East Bay music scene. Composed of Sam Gouveia (Guitar, 22), Jake Navarra (Vocals, 21), Joey Biernacki (Bass, 22), and Ryan Long (Drums, 19), the band quickly began making a name for themselves. By fusing the vocal grit of grunge with the brooding riffs of stoner rock and progressive drum beats, they managed to forge an engaging style that impressed Tim Sult of Clutch, who hopes "to see these guys on the road and growing as a band for years to come". By March 2011 they had placed first in the 48th Annual Hayward Battle of the Bands and taken home the award of Best New Band from the local Bands 4 Bands Organization. With great vigor, the band went on to record their first full length album, First Edition, in February of 2011.
Cast Iron Crow is making the final preparations to release their debut full length album First Edition, which is scheduled to be released July 7th, 2010. In support of their album, Cast Iron Crow will be playing a slurry of shows from Sacramento to Santa Cruz in an effort to build a solid regional following.
Cast Iron Crow is a band that is turning heads everywhere they go. Each and every song seems to breathe a life all it's own, channeled through the passion of each of its vested members. Whether you're drawn in by the powerful vocals, the memorable riffs, or the grooving rhythm section, one thing is certain: This band doesn't just play their music, they inhabit it.
